Body cursor: Supporting Sports Training with Out-of-Body Sence

Previous studies on sports training suggest trainees who correctly understand their posture, movements, and how they perform can improve their skills more rapidly. However, especially for novice trainees, recognizing one’s posture and movement is not easy. Although some recent researches on training support try to show the trainee’s self-image, there are limitations in viewpoints and movements. In this research, we propose a system called “Body Cursor” that shows a copy of a trainee’s body that correctly reproduces the posture and the motion of the trainee in real time. With this system, a trainee feels this body copy as if it were a cursor of the trainee’s own body.
